Costume Deposits
Costume Balances are scheduled to post to your card on file Nov 5th.  The balance due for each class level is posted below.  If you have any questions or would like to use a different card, email us at starsinmotion@yahoo.com. 

Class Features
Music of the Month
We will be "WILD About Dance" this month and use songs with the word dance or wild animal related songs in our classes. And to celebrate our wild-ness, we will have Wild and Crazy Day the last lesson of the month. Add a crazy hat, socks, hair bow or tutu to your dance class uniform during your classes Oct 26-31!

Fitness Focus
Our Fitness Focus for October is "jumping".  We will use jump ropes, mini tramp, stacked mats and jump across the floor, over stuff and even right out the door!

Choosy Challenge
Choosy Says...Wash your hands! We will discuss the importance of hand washing as the cold and flu season approaches. Choosy also says, Sneeze in your sleeve! We will learn how germs move from our hands to things we touch. 
Your Help Is Needed
It is truly a joy to see our dance families enjoying company and conversation with one another while their dancers are in class.  Please assist us by keeping the lobby and waiting spaces clear of trash and debris.  If you find it necessary to move the furniture, please be so kind as to return it to it's original position. The forms on the tall table by the entrance to the studio are essential business forms; please do not allow your child to write on these papers. And remember that SIM is a soda free, tobacco free, gum free and fast food free zone! Your help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Watch for Nutcracker Updates to come to your inbox from Ballet DeSoto very soon.  Details about casting, extra studio rehearsals and stage rehearsals will help you stay informed and organized!

October will be a busy month at SIM! We are well into our Nutcracker choreography and will continue to refine our technique and performance qualities. We will begin working on our "SIMfit" routines for community performances. We also have some special dress up days your dancer will not want to miss! We will incorporate our Fitness Focus (jump!) into our ballet classes as we learn saute` combinations. We will also learn the first 2 combinations to our tap routines this month!
Columbus Day Dance Clinic Day
School is out for Columbus Day! 
We will offer several activities on Oct 12, including:
Kids' Day Out - a full day for school age children (K5 and older), 7a-6p, students will need a sack lunch. 
Yoga and Pilates combo special for adults and teens, 11a-1p, $12. 
Special Dance Clinics for dancers age 7 and older. 
1:00-2:00 Hip Hop tricks; 
2:00-3:00 Leaps and Turns; 
3:00-4:00 Aerial Silks and Trapeze. 
$10 per class or all 3 for $24.

Dance Convention
All SIM students age 7 and older are invited to join us at the SADM Fall Convention Nov. 13-15.  See the poster in the lobby for details.

think pink 2013
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We will celebrate survivors and remember loved ones by wearing a pink accessory with our dance class uniform during dance classes the week of Oct 12-17. 
Think Pink!  ... and get your mammogram!
