Today is World Cancer Day. Help us eliminate ovarian cancer.

OCRF News

OCRF and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA), longtime friends and allies, have led the way in research, advocacy and support for patients and their families for over 22 years. As of January 2016, we're pleased to announce we are joining together to form Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA), the largest global organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research while supporting women and their families.
Meet Ovarian Cancer National Alliance

On February 17, join Ovarian Cancer National Alliance to celebrate the talents of the Washington, DC, region's best at the 11th Annual Turn Up the Heat Gala. Guests will enjoy a sampling of dishes and drinks from nearly 60 women chefs, restaurant owners and mixologists while they prepare savories, desserts and drinks to tickle your taste buds. Bid on luxurious vacations and more in a live auction as you give back to one great cause.
Research News

A new study reported in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute reports that carrying mutations in a gene called BRIP1 raised a woman's chance of getting ovarian cancer in her lifetime to approximately five percent - nearly three times greater than the chance women generally have of developing the cancer.

OCRF Team Hope All-Star
Lefty Schrage, right, with guests

The community of West Union, Iowa, enjoyed a great day for OCRF, as Darwin "Lefty" Schrage and a team of supporters held their 5th Annual Dance for Life Benefit. Founded in memory of Lefty's late wife, Barb, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2011, the OCRF fundraiser featured live music, food, drink, and a silent auction. This year's event raised over $3,000. Lefty vows to continue his tradition until a cure has been found. The 6th Annual Dance for Life Benefit will be November 6!

There are so many ways to fundraise. Click here to create your very own fundraising event or page, or email Melissa Chemick for more information. You could be our next OCRF Team Hope All-Star!
