Regular Aspirin Use May Reduce Ovarian Cancer Risk
Women who take aspirin daily may reduce their risk of ovarian cancer by 20 percent, according to a study by scientists at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The study, which was conducted as part of the OCRF-funded Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium, was published last week in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. To read more, click here.  
Study Shows 1 in 5 Women with Ovarian Cancer has Inherited Predisposition
A new study conservatively estimates that one in five women with ovarian cancer has inherited genetic mutations that increase the risk of the disease, according to research at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The project is the first large-scale analysis of the combined contributions of inherited and acquired mutations in a major cancer type. To read more, click here.

OCRF Research Finds New Factor in Ovarian Cancer Development
OCRF Ann Schreiber Mentored Investigator Award grantee Yin Wang, Ph.D., led research that found that the activity of a protein plays an important role in ovarian cancer development. The findings were published in Molecular Cancer Research. The grant to Dr. Wang was made possible through the generous support of Phil and Judy Messing, in memory of Carol S. On January 25th, ovarian cancer survivor and longtime supporter Jennifer Clark hosted her much-anticipated 6th Annual Benefit for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at Play2 in Chickie's and Pete's in Philadelphia. Guests enjoyed food, refreshments, raffles, and a silent auction, along with a special free-ride offer from Uber. By evening's end, over $14,000 was raised, bringing the total amount donated since the event's inception to an incredible $95,000! Our sincere thanks and congratulations to Jennifer, and all who continue to make this benefit such a wonderful success!
