IZONE

IZONE: Now, at your Y, our interactive fitness equipment and game consoles allow members to enjoy an exhilarating, full-body workout and have fun playing, all at the same time! Fun games get you up and moving; the IZONE offers something for everyone.
 

Program Supervised Hours: M/F 6:30-7:30pm, 

Monday:  Weights with Kyle

Tuesday:  Dancing with Daniel

Wednesday:  Nutrition

Thursday:  Video Game Olympics

 

Teen Night for 2013:  every fourth Friday, March 22, April 26, May 24, June 28, July 26 and August 23.  Sat. 9:00am-12:30pm, Sun. Closed.

TUTOR STUDENTS PROGRAM

Encourage, Excel, Educate

This tutoring program at the Newport News YMCA started on January 15, 2012.  Thank you to our many volunteer tutors that make this program possible.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, need more information, or want to register your child or yourself, please contact Josh Williams at josh.williams@peninsulaymca.org or call 245-0047, ext. 211.

  

Students have the opportunity to better their skills in the following subjects: Math, Science, History, and English.

Registration: Please register at the membership Welcome Center.

 

Dates:  February 20 - June 1

Wednesday 6pm-8pm

First Saturday of every month 9am-12pm

Grades:  1st-12th

Cost:  Free 

CAMP KEKOKA
SUN FUN & WATER SPORTS 

 

Give your son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter theCamp kekoka sailing summer of a lifetime! YMCA Camp Kekoka is the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA's resident camp serving boys & girls ages 8-15.

Camp Kekoka has something for everyone! Tubing, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, archery, drama, cooking, garden, arts & crafts, cabin time, and so much more! All of this in a safe and nurturing environment. Campers walk away a little more independent and self-assured.

Want to meet the director? Check with your Welcome Desk staff for the camp informational session taking place in your very own branch in February or March.

We offer 6 fun filled, one week sessions:

Session 1: June 30-July 5      Session 4: July 21-26

Session 2: July 7-12             Session 5: July 28-August 2

Session 3: July 14-19           Session 6: August 4-9

 

Cost: $500 a week. This covers all activities, lodging, & food. Register now and we will set up a payment plan for you so you can pay a little at a time! Just like all other programs at the YMCA we do have a guardian program.
