From the Rector
Dear Friends,
After nearly four years of dedicated and outstanding service, JoAnn Amicangelo has announced her resignation from her ministry at Christ Church. After a personal sabbatical, she plans to resume her career as a writer. During her tenure as Director of Communications, JoAnn has provided exceptional leadership and skill, ensuring that the breadth of ministry at Christ Church was always beautifully and effectively communicated, especially through the change and challenges of the past three years. In addition to her specific and excellent skills in the areas of communications, JoAnn has also been a valuable member of our staff leadership, and her presence in our ministry will be greatly missed. Her last day with us will be Friday, July 19. I encourage you to share with her your gratitude for her support and ministry these past several years. Spirituality Center Cabinet Meeting
Wednesday, July 17, 7-8:30 pm in Room B-213
 The Christ Church Spirituality Center is looking for added members for its cabinet. The role of the cabinet is to provide a sounding board and accountability to the director. The group works together to explore vision and also to provide extra hands for some of the activities of the Spirituality Center, and has the support of the new rector, Fr. Alzheimer's Support Group
Thursday, July 18, 6:30-8 pm
All who are coping with the challenges of Alzheimer's disease and dementia are welcome to attend this group at any time to find comfort and practical help. The group meets every third Thursday in the Undercroft.

Summer Picnics

Mark your calendar for the next parish BBQ on the front patio. Burgers, plates and utensils are provided. We ask that you bring a dish to pass and your own beverages. The last parish picnic of the summer is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Advertising Opportunity: Parish Directory
A new Parish Directory should be ready for publication in September. These directories are free to parishioners thanks to the businesses who advertise in the directory. Anyone interested in placing an advertisement in support of our new directory should contact Lisa Pleschakow to create a new one. Please feel free to pass this opportunity on to others in the Grosse Pointe community. (Advertisers do not need to be members of Christ Church.)

Update Your Contact Information
In preparation for a new Parish Directory to be published this fall, all parishioners are asked to update their contact information. You can do this by completing this form, ORvia our website. Log on to our website, click Parishioner Log-in in the upper left corner, and sign in to your account. (If you don't have an account, follow the directions to get a Log-in.) Under the Home tab, click on My Profile. You will need to click on the pencil icon to edit your information. Thank you for your help.

 Uniform Collection
Now through Aug. 2
New or gently used uniforms are needed for children (K- High School) attending Detroit public and charter schools in the city. A collection bin is in the church office lobby through Aug. 2. Items needed include black, navy blue or khaki pants; white and navy collared shirts; sweaters in uniform colors; belts and underclothing. If you prefer, you may make a donation through PayPal via the Crossroads website.

Entrance to the church parking lot will be closed periodically Monday through Friday for the next couple of weeks due to roof repairs being done close to the driveway. You may enter the church parking lot through South High School's parking lot.
