We take care of IT.  You take care of business.

Technology at it's Best!

Yeah, that's right.  We said it?

Boy, it's been a busy month or two.  I can't remember the last time I traveled so much. It's been really fun, and exhausting.  I think I'm in for the rest of the year though.

Traveling was good for me though. I think I'm generally an observant kind of guy. So, being outside the office allowed me to witness some interesting things.  Things I normally take for granted. So, the first article this month reflects just a couple of the things I noticed.

The other was a little more challenging, because I couldn't leave the subject matter alone. I tried to write about something else, and returned to the 'Faces' article. It's June, and we are all about to be flooded with new applicants, with new talents.

Although technology is a huge part of your business, so are people. Good people, and the folks that may challenge us.  For those of us in small businesses, we rely more on the good ones.  They are out there, and they are ready to work.  Are we ready for them?

Sincerely,
.

Necessary or Are we getting Spoiled?

Recently, I took a road trip. And then I've traveled and worked in different sections of the State. Coming to work everyday and looking at your own equipment, you tend not to pay attention to everything else going on around you. For instance, I was in a conference room setting, and noticed the widescreen TV's mounted from the ceiling.  I may be dating myself, but do you remember when the biggest heaviest tubed televisions needed to be rolled in on their own stand?  Now, flatscreens are in every public venue.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned in the past that I usually have at least a dozen tabs open in a couple of browsers... at the same time. So, I was at a home somewhere remotely trying to work. I was having trouble downloading a file, and my windows kept freezing. I was asked the question, "how many windows do you have open?", followed by, "well, there's your problem".  Wait, what?

Stirring Speech from an Impressive Student

There are incredible young people entering our workforce today. I'm sure many thought the same thing when we entered the scene years or decades ago. As business owners and managers, many of you (us) have rewarding jobs that make a difference in our communities.  We have learned, and built on our experiences to get and do better.

However, with so much bad news, and so little activity by our political leaders, and so much friction in views posted on so many social media platforms, it's easy to lose touch. We have busy lives and are bombarded from all sides daily; not only you, but everyone on your staff has similar challenges. It can be easy for some to become complacent.
