Technology at it's Best!

Kardon Tech

Greetings!

April flew by so fast!  However, it was a bit busier in the halls of Kardon Tech than usual.

I'm not sure if you've been able to keep up on our social media posts, but we were Silver Sponsors at the Georgia MGMA Spring Conference, which took an awful lot of planning.  We've met, and created, and designed, and discussed and purchased, and...

We had been considering developing a marketing plan for some time, and consulted with and then contracted BBR Marketing.  Shortly after that, the Omnibus Final Rule was released.  We were ecstatic to have Bonnie's team in our corner!

Marketing pieces, conceptual ideas, a press release, changes to social media and website pages were all engineered with the support and direction of BBR.  We must thank our new marketing company!  We highly recommend you exploring their services.

Now, if only I turned over the newsletter last month... Well, here we are for May, late but I made it.  Here we go...

Sincerely,

Brian G. Wilson

Ask Chantz
The Eyes and Ears at the Office

Question:  Why is the fan in my computer so loud?

Answer:  Dust..  Yes, it could be that simple.

My fan was screaming across the offices.  I do work with several windows open across a couple of browsers... all day, every day.  But I have a pretty nice computer, well, really nice (the boss selected well).  And it's kind of a new one.  I knew it wasn't dying, but it sure was complaining... a lot.

Now, increased CPU usage can increase the speed of your fan because...

What is Enough, and What is Too Much

So, I recently visited my family.  My niece was graduating high school, and we were all so proud of her.  So, like many others this time of year, I ventured out of the city.  I rode with my brother and his wife.  The conversations during our trip were more than enlightening.

My brother works for a large hospital, so HIPAA came up.  But it wasn't the topic of security at work that was intriguing.  It was the concern of personal security.  My sister (my niece's mother) and my brother have a similar school of thought
.  Big bother is not only watching, but he's at the window looking in!  Case in point...

The Rotating ToDo List
How to Get Control of Your Tasks

There are so many tools out there that try to help keep us organized.  Some are great!  Others, not so much.  Some are free, while others can cost a company... plenty is the word we'll use.  Some are simple.  Paper and pen, for instance.  Some are so complex that you can start your car on a cool winter day while completing the last few tasks for the day.  Well, that's not true... yet.

No matter what tool you use, it still is going to need you in order for it to work.  You can only get out of it what you put into it.  So, what does that mean?
Stop and Smell the Roses
Or is it Something Else...

There are still just so many hours in a day, and so many days in a work week.  Many have tried, but you can't add to that.  So you try to work with a detailed schedule structure.  And as a part of your day or week, you need that "down" time.  That time to reflect.  You need time to relax, or you'll explode.

"Stop and smell the roses" is something we all must do.  While taking a break is critical to improved performance, how much of your daily or weekly downtime can be categorized as... well, procrastination.  We all do it, to some degree, right?
