Greetings!

I just wasn't sure.  Do I add another one?  Was it worth the effort?  Many of you know my Event Manager, Brian.  Well, he assists with our marketing and has been on me for weeks (if not months) to add a Pinterest account to our social media pages.  I haven't, but...

Please check out our new Kardon Events Pinterest page!  Yes, he did.  Now... we are (he is) still learning about this new social media craze, but the reports are good.  And, we'll take any advice from those of you that have played with it.

If you really are not aware of all of the types of events Kardon Events organizes, our new Pinterest page will give you some nice snapshots.  The event mentioned below has a few pictures.

An event for a handful or a roomful (banquet hall full).  From a sit-down dinner to a guided tour on local trails.   Kardon Events helps you with your event, your way.  We have held a few more events than the average party goer, so we have ideas... and we have connections.  We can help with just the planning, or the full execution.

Whatever you are considering, consider contacting us.  Remember, our first consultation is complimentary.

"M" is for
Well, "M" is obviously for May.  But there are important holidays in May.  Mother's Day and Memorial Day are both very well known.  We've past May Day, and Cinco de Mayo (the M is in there).  There's also Military Spouses Day and Museum Day.

Would you like a memorable meal with your Mom this week?  Whether you select a fine restaurant or host a special meal at her home, make it special.  And then there are burgers and dogs at the end of the month.  Or... how about serving some of your favorite dishes catered from a local eatery instead?

When I looked it up, I couldn't believe how many days of observation there were in May.  But if a day begins with a capital letter, it deserves celebration.  Pick a day, pick a reason.  Then give Kardon Events a call.  Let's plan your unique celebration.
The Last Supper... on the Titanic

Kardon Events assisted with an intimate dinner party for 8.  Our client Dale said, "My endless fascination with the story of Titanic began when I was a child hearing the story about a great-grandparent's Swedish immigrant friend who died during the sinking."  So, we knew this event needed to be special.

Dale did most of the research for this 100th Anniversary event.  As you can imagine, he has been researching the topic for years.  He was the one who secured the place settings, read the published stories, and accessed the menu.

Did You Know...
Which one is my glass?!  So, we've done some articles about table settings. We also wrote about stemware.  But then... you get to a formal dinner, sit at the table, and it's all right there in front of you. Now what?

I recently attended a dinner, and the gentleman next to me sat for a moment with questions in his eyes. After a brief pause he looked a bit relieved. He then reached for his wine glass and commented, "I just wait... (A Good Trick to Remember

Meal Ideas for an Event, or the Home

Everyone loves chicken, and you can prepare it so many ways.  The Kardon Technology newsletter featured an article in March about whether or not to eat fried chicken with a fork and knife.  The response was awesome!  But there are multiple chicken recipes that can be used for a simple dinner or an elaborate event.

Southern Living just did an article titled "45 Quick-Fix Chicken Suppers"  One of my favorites is the Pimiento Cheese-Stuffed Fried Chicken.  For the healthy conscience, I'm sure you can prepare the breast by baking rather than frying.

Spring Fever Cocktails
It's the season for something light and refreshing.  The Spring cocktail is called the Yellow Bird.  There are a few ingredients, but the directions are extremely simple!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup ice
  • 4 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce white rum (banana rum is best)
  • 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 ounce Galliano
  • A splash of carbonated lemon-lime beverage (can be diet)
  • 1/2 slice lemon, for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine in a cocktail shaker the first 5 ingredients and shake
  2. Strain (or pour) into a cocktail glass and if desired, top with a splash of soda. Garnish with a lemon slice
