Greetings!

Happy New Year!  I trust everyone had a good time bringing in the new year.  Being on the weekend certainly contributed to festive events this year.  Thankfully, it appeared many also had Monday off from work to simply relax (or recover) before getting back to a busy week.

January is a time for planning.  Companies or departments that have not already completed their budgets often have detailed meetings in January about what the upcoming year will bring.  This is the time you need to meet with your planner.  Kardon Events can help with your marketing plan, find locations, establish a theme and select menu items for the important milestones in 2012.

Whether you are interested in holding employee functions. Client Appreciation events or something at the house, you can rely on our experience to plan an unforgettable affair.  Give me a call so that we can plan a fantastic 2012 event that will reflect positively on you, and your company.

Ideas for Winter Parties

Well, the social season has officially ended.  Many fundraiser banquets and awards ceremonies kick-off the season in September.  Then, there are the eons of holiday parties!  It's no wonder we all tend to gain a little weight the end of the year.

The winter months are typically not that festive.  People are resting from running all over town to different events.  Many are just settling in with their new bills.  It's cold, and you just don't want to go back out.  But, January and February are ideal months for many people to have a shindig (yes... shindig).  Winter party ideas...

Did You Know...
Unlike a snifter that is meant to be cupped in your hand, wine glasses should be held by the stem.  Not only does this keep fingerprints off the bowl of the glass, but it prevents the temperature of your 98+ degree body from affecting the preferred temperature of the wine.  Ahhhh... that makes sense.

The shape of a wine glass actually lends to flavor.  A red Wine glass (Types of stemware...)

Destinations - Miami Beach, FL

Traveling off season can be extremely rewarding.  Pay attention to the ads, look online.  Travel deals are everywhere!  Granted, there may not be as many vendors on the beach.  Or, you may not stay in the water quite as long.  But a sunset or sunrise over the ocean is still a spectacular sight 365 days a year!

Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach South Beach magazine names the legendary Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach Hotel and Resort one of the best in Miami Beach!  It is an oceanfront resort that offers "a sophisticated design, elegant amenities and impeccable service for the ultimate getaway", according to their website.

There are 631 guest rooms, 28 meeting and conference rooms, 4 restaurant/lounges, 4 pools, the ELLE Spa and Fitness Center, and, oh... the ocean.  The hotel overlooks the world-renowned Miami Beach.  Things to do in Miami Beach...

Cocktails for the Chilly Month

If you've ever attended a Kardon Events function, you've enjoyed one of our Signature Cocktails.  It is typically something that the host prefers to drink or serve, often with an added tested twist.  If you have ideas, please feel free to forward them to me.

The idea for the Midnight Martini came from suggested drinks for New Years.  The coffee profile with both the liqueur and a vodka like Van Gogh's Espresso will keep you up well past midnight.  The Midnight Martini is an interestingly simple cocktail.  You can also try this one out with a coffee brandy or Double Espresso Vodka and Kahlua. Midnight Martinis can also be served as a shooter.

Ingredients:
The Paloma

3.5 oz Vodka of Coffee Vodka
.5 oz. Coffee Liqueur
Lemon Twist

Preparation:

Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice..
Stir with a bar spoon,
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with a lemon twist
