Technology at It's Best!

Kardon Tech

Greetings!

Welcome to 2012!  Kardon Technology is excited about so many things that we have in the works.  We are glad we can share our continued growth and progress with you.  Whether you use or just talk our services, we appreciate earning your trust and confidence!

We understand there are several providers out there, as well as wives, husbands, cousins and in-laws that provide services.  So, we try very hard to consider what it is you need and what you are seeking in a provider.  Kardon has a very diverse staff that come from various backgrounds.  We meet on nearly every topic that involves our client(s).  Having such a wide spectrum of  thought and input helps us provide comprehensive solutions.

You may not have met all of us, or may not get the chance to talk with some of us in great detail.  So, we figured we'd share a bit more in this issue.  When you get the opportunity, read a little more about the team on the Kardon Technology website.  You can also follow our blog posts.  Each member of the technical team puts just a bit of their individual perspective into the articles they present from our industry.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to any one of us if there are topics you'd like to see covered.  And if you'd like to see how we may be able to help you more directly, Contact Us to schedule your complimentary consultation.   Let us show you how you can enjoy your technology in 2012!

Sincerely,

Brian G. Wilson

Ask Chantz
The Eyes and Ears at the Office...

Meet Chantz.  He walks between the offices of Kardon International Headquarters all day.  Although he visits mine and Karla's offices, and occasionally pokes his nose around Jason's desk, he spends most of his day with Donna.  Oh to wonder what secrets he has access to.  The wealth of knowledge that Chantz is privy to is unmeasurable

We have been discussing
how to open a way for clients to ask general questions; things that come up during your day, things you read, or plans you have for new processes or equipment.  So we are introducing a new feature for 2012 called Ask Chantz.  Send an e-mail to [email protected] with your simple questions.
The top questions each month, will be highlighted in this section of the newsletter.  So fire away.   We are standing by.

Technology is... Everywhere
Tools at the Super Bowl

What happened to the days when you drop off the face of the earth for the hours before the game tailgating, and during the game yelping for your team?  Technology!  Nowadays, any major event in a city stresses a network.  People are tweeting, posting locations, calling and texting to the seats or concession stands.  Well, Verizon is on top of it.

GottaBe Mobile reports this will be 'the first 4G LTE Super Bowl' and that Lucas Oil Stadium is now 'the most wired stadium in the NFL... delivering speeds fast enough to watch the Super Bowl on your phone, while you are at the game'.  What?!   Really?  What else to watch for...

Services That Work

If we have ever visited your office, you know we strongly encourage the use of not just some form of surge protection between your computer and the wall, but the right type of protection.  There are some parts of our grand old city where power failures and surges are prevalent.  But a simple electrical storm can permanently damage your equipment.  Contact Us if you need to verify you are using your UPS properly (uninterrupted power supply, not the delivery service), IF you are using one at all.  If you are not (yet), let us know how we can help you protect your equipment, and avoid something like this:

"I heard the alarm go off in my office and went to investigate.  Something had tripped the APC unit.  I'm not sure where the surge came from, but I went ahead and reset the power strip.  All of a sudden, I saw colors flash from behind the computer, and now it won't come on."

Kardon Tech took to the track last month for our annual holiday celebration.  We enjoyed a great afternoon of food and fun at the Andretti Indoor Karting and Games.  After an awesome lunch at the Andretti Grill, we took to the tracks.

Can you guess who won?  It was like watching a college student beat up a couple of senior citizens.  Yes, Jason hit the first heat, and left us in his smoke.  Brian was second, with Christa coming in a close third.  Jason CLAIMS he slowed down on the second heat.  More about the afternoon...

The Timeline

Towards the end of the year, Facebook rolled out their newest feature called the Timeline.  It is basically just like it sounds, an ongoing historical feed of all your activity in chronological order.  Absolutely everything!  Posts, comments, likes and shares, check-ins, photos and more; all the way back to the very first day you joined Facebook.  AND, Facebook would like you to add "life events"; things that happened even before joining Facebook or before Facebook joined the Internet.  Managing your Timeline...

A Little About the Staff...

We figured we'd share a little about us this month.  So, my questions to the group were,  "What is your favorite color?"  And, "What did you want to be when you were 10 (or a kid)?"

Donna:  Blue. I wanted to be a Professional tree climber, not anything more than just climbing the trees and looking around..

Karla:  Teal. I wanted to be a Visual Merchandiser, and design retail window displays.  No, that doesn't mean I shopped a lot.  But I did notice the colors and details when I was out.

Jason:  My favorite color is red, but only when put together with black. I like red and black together.  When I was 10, I wanted to be a baseball player.

Christa:  Red  or blue...  My childhood dream was to be a professional basketball player like Cheryl Miller (maybe not at 10 but...).

Brian:  Blue.  When I was a child, I wanted to build houses.  The hammer seemed to get in the way of that though.

Seems to be a lot of Blue, or shades of blue, huh?   What do the colors mean?
