M&S Timelines KS2/3 History, Art & Design, D&T, Literacy
A snapshot of M&S product developments through time, these four resources provide selected images from the M&S Company Archive collection and show key changes throughout the history of the Company, and how these might link to social history and world events.
Each resource has a PowerPoint to download featuring a visual timeline of each product area through the years, and the teachers' pages contain discussion and activity ideas for using the resources in the classroom.
Using primary sources to examine changes in local stores over time, these brand new resources focus on selected M&S high street stores across the UK and provide a series of case study histories. So far, the following six stores are featured:
Archive images show the development of the individual M&S store through time and you can download all the images in a PDF document to print out for the classroom.
Also included are highlights of archival evidence from the store's own records, giving you snapshots of the life of the store, and there are lots of ideas for discussion and activities using the material with students from KS1 to KS3 (including a Penny Bazaar mini-topic).
