Greetings!
Within days summer will arrive. Many associate the warmer weather months with park outings, pool time, barbeques, picnics, and more. But for some, health concerns and life circumstances hinder such activities.
Consider bringing summer to those friends in need by tying thoughtful gestures to June holidays (both mainstream and unique celebratory dates).
Flag Day (June 14th): Create a treat that is red, white, and blue. Place an American flag in a gift basket.
Father's Day (June 16th): Is the friend in need, or the spouse/caregiver of the friend in need, a father? Recognize him on Father's Day. Make a personalized tribute. Bake his favorite treats. Write a heartfelt note of appreciation. Collect special photos and create a memory album.
International Picnic Day (June 18th): Bring a picnic lunch to a friend in need. Remember, picnics can be held indoors too! Pack a picnic basket full of finger foods, plastic utensils, and blankets.
Summer Solstice (June 21st): Summer solstice denotes the beginning of summer. If a friend is unable to get out in the summer weather, bring the sunshine indoors. Create a gift basket full of summer fun items: beach reads, Flip-flops, radiant flowers, and more. Serve summer treats inside such as icy deserts, frozen drinks, and fruit salads.
Little gestures make a big difference to a friend in need!
