Greetings!
At WhatFriendsDo we coordinate things electronically to help you make your friend's journey a bit better. The goal: a better journey. The tool: a website that brings and holds caring friends together. The key: friends. We repeat, friends! Without friends, the tool and its capabilities don't matter.
This online tool promotes personal interactions: sharing meals together; helping with childcare and yard work; sitting for hours listening, holding the hand of a beloved friend going through a rough time; laughing and trying to forget that rough time for just a little while. WhatFriendsDo helps to make what friends do a little easier.

A WhatFriendsDo Team can be ideal for private people
WHAT??? That's right and here's why:
Even though you want to keep your situation private, you still have lots of friends who care about you, and it is only natural that they care about your well-being.. It doesn't mean they are nosey; they just want to know that you are okay, and that your needs are being taken care of. They just want to help.
Setting up a WhatFriendsDo Team protects your privacy, while making the following possible:
- You control the out-going communication, releasing only the details you want to share. For example, you can post general information about how your'e doing for your broader circle of friends, co-workers, church friends and neighbors. By using the Blog to communicate information you want to share, such as when you do and do not want visitors, you will receive fewer phone and email inquiries, which can be exhausting for the patient and caregivers.
-
Incoming communication is easier for friends and more comfortable for you. Your Team Guest Book is a place for well-wishers to post messages, which can bring more healing that most people ever imagine or expect. The messages typically get read and re-read at all hours of the day and night. They are also there for the entire team to see - which can be amazingly powerful for everyone.
- The Team Calendar is a wonderful way to orchestrate what and when help is needed. You can set up a Calendar that allows friends to help with meals, childcare, and transportation. Or, your Team Calendar may indicate you don't need help with anything at the moment, although you can always change the Calendar later to share, for example, that you would be helped by having friends stop by to visit, but on a very limited basis.
One of the beauties of setting up a Team is that all of the features - the Blog, the Calendar, the Photos, the Team List, the PayPal Donation, the Guest Book - can be added or removed from the Team at any time. It's not an "all or nothing" deal. But, it is "all free!"
Do you have more questions? Send us an email. We're glad to help you out. We can't change the outcome of your situation, but we hope to make the journey better.
