GM Research Partnership To Test Fuel-Efficient Tire Designs
GM engineers will begin working with the new National Tire Research Center in January to accelerate development of more fuel-efficient tire designs. GM and other auto engineers will be able to use the data collected by the equipment to modify tire characteristics to improve performance for low rolling resistance, better road-holding capability and other criteria.

Patagonia Unveils First Renewable Alternative to Neoprene Wetsuits
Outdoor apparel company Patagonia spent four years working with clean technology company Yulex Corporation to come up with a sustainable replacement for neoprene — the petroleum-based material used to make wetsuits. The biorubber replacement material is made from guayule, a renewable, non-food crop.
