Interviewing Workshop

Junior and senior special education students will have the opportunity to do mock interviews, play the Reality Store, visit with local college representatives, complete resumes and learn about safety on the job.

The Reality Store is a game based on real life situations. The game was started, and sponsored, by the Business Professional Women's. The students will draw from a hat to decide marital status, and number of children and will visit different tables to experience a variety of real life situations. This game is intended to simulate "real life" in a fun way and get students thinking about transition into adulthood.

Extreme Safety for working teens. It is MIOSHA'S mission to prevent injuries and help protect teen workers by promoting positive work experiences. Fact 60-70 teens die from work related injuries each year. 200,000 seek emergency medical treatment

Project Service, Inc. is holding a Job Fair at Michigan Works!  

 

Project Service, Inc. has a variety of positions open throughout the year. The Job Fair will be Monday, November 18th from 12-3. Job seekers should bring in a resume and fill out an application.  Project Service, Inc. is also offering a question and answer period at this event.

UPWard Initiative

Business Plan Competition
Deadline Extended! 

 

UPWARD2  

The 2nd Annual UPWard Initiative Business Plan Competition has been designed to encourage entrepreneurs to explore new ideas and start new businesses in the Upper Peninsula. Additionally, existing businesses with new ideas are welcome to apply.

 

The competition is open to all residents in the Upper Peninsula, Marinette and Florence Counties. Competition winner will receive startup seed capital, as well as mentoring services and media exposure.

 

This region wide contest is an opportunity to compete for cash and in-kind prizes, but it's also a chance to get constructive feedback on your business plan, to help move it from a virtual business to a reality.
