CONGRATULATIONS . . . To State Star Performer Joel Schulz, Director of the Upper Peninsula and NE Region SBTDCs
 Joel will be recognized in October at the National Conference of the Association of Small Business Development Centers, in Orlando Florida.
Joel Schultz -- is a humble guy and a focused leader. He quietly and unpretentiously (and with delightful dry humor) manages an extremely effective service delivery system across the entire Upper Peninsula and northeast region of our great state. Joel has developed methods and systems to deliver maximum consulting activity with high level economic impact. From an efficiency standpoint, Joel's regional office outpaces the rest of the state year after year. His creative and down-to-earth problem solving is deeply valued by the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) network, evidenced in his involvement in so many statewide initiatives and SBTDC projects.
Joel has built tremendous partnerships throughout our region starting with the Michigan Works! partnership, an exemplary host and home for the SBTDC. Whether it's a financial institution, an economic development organization, or university tech transfer office, Joel fosters solid relationships, ones that lead to win-wins for all parties. Congratulations, Joel, on this much deserved recognition. It doesn't get much better than being recognized by one's peers.
