About OC Math Circle

The Orange County Math Circle was founded in 2007 by math enthusiast Johnny Li (Harvard University, Class of 2015) to bring his experience from San Diego Math Circle to share with more students in his hometown.  Please read Orange County Math Circle, A Service Learning Project by Dr. Michelle Muratori of Johns Hopkins University to learn more about its history.

Johnny also published an article titled "Orange County Math Circle: Where Math and Service Meet" in Imagine Magazine, May 2011.

AMC 8 Classes Continued Success

With less than a month left before the AMC 8 competition on November 13, talented middle school students are preparing for the big day. So far, the 40 students who attended OCMC's preparation classes have learned a number of problem solving techniques and tricks. There are still three classes remaining for those who wish to attend, including a review session on November 10, the weekend before the AMC 8 exam.

Since 2007, OCMC has been hosting free AMC 8 classes, its first program ever established. This year, the class once again attracts an assortment of students from across Orange County who come to class ready with a common interest in math. The OC Math Circle wishes the best of luck  to students taking the AMC 8 exam this fall.
