Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October begins this week and so does Domestic Violence Awareness Month. If you would like to have someone speak to your community group, faith group, club or classroom about domestic violence, dating violence, or healthy relationships please call us at (404) 370-7670. Here are some other things you can do to recognize DVAM:

Gather
Mark your calendars for our 23rd Annual Candlelight Vigil commemorating. Each year our community gathers to remember those lost, celebrate those who have survived and renew our dedication to ending violence against women. The program will include speakers, musical performance, and community participation as well as the incredibly moving candle lighting ceremony. We will gather at the gazebo in Decatur Square at 7pm on October 16th. Visit our Facebook event page for more information. |
Educate
Follow us on Twitter during Domestic Violence Awareness Month for daily tweets of domestic violence facts to share with your followers. Not on Twitter? Text "Follow wrcdv" to 40404 to receive our tweets as text messages. |
Get Involved
WRCDV begins our Fall volunteer training in October. Upcoming volunteers meet for six weeks to learn more about domestic violence, how it affects families and how our agency does our work. Email volunteer@wrcdv.org or call Kim at (404) 370-7670 for more information. |
