Serve and Protect
Last month, WRC's staff hosted a get-to-know-you lunch with the Domestic Violence Unit of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
In DeKalb County, more than 2,000 Protective Orders are filed every year. WRC's Legal Advocacy Program assists women filing Protective Orders against abusive partners or stalkers and the DV Unit serves those Orders. We spent our time together learning about each other's successes and challenges while trying to help DV survivors remain safe, and we brainstormed ways we could better support one another's efforts. WRC thanks Sheriff Brown and the DV Unit for partnering with us! |
Many Thanks In December WRC participated in Georgia Gives Day, a dedicated day when individuals across the state were invited to support their local nonprofits. We knew you showed us tremendous support, but it turns out that we owe you an even bigger thank you. WRC was one of the top 10 earners for the whole state. Thanks for showing your commitment to ending violence and making Georgia Gives Day such a success! |
