We owe a big thank you to everyone who contributed to our agency through Georgia Gives Day!  On Georgia Gives Day, citizens of our state were asked to contribute what they could to their favorite nonprofit.  Your generosity helped us raise over $7,000 and ensured that we received a match from the SunTrust Foundation that will be used to support our Making Change financial education program. In our last email, we asked for help buying holiday gifts for families are using our services.  Boy did you deliver!  Twenty-four families (with a total of 87 children) have been paired with generous donors.  We'd like to share one of their stories.

Brandy moved out of the safehouse into her own apartment a few months ago.  However, funds are still tight, and she doesn't always have quarters for the laundry mat.  Neither does she want to take her baby and her laundry back and forth on MARTA.  That left her washing her own and her two sons' clothes in the sink by hand and hanging them up around the apartment to dry.  The generous donor who adopted her family purchased a brand new, energy-efficient washer and dryer for her family with a 5-year full warranty. Brandy could not be happier!
