Paoli Battlefield Heritage Day Event:
Join us on Saturday, September 19th, 2015; from 11 am to 5 pm.
Monument Ave & Wayne Ave, Malvern, PA 19355
We will have as our centerpiece the American Military Timeline starting at the French and Indian War and going through to Vietnam, displaying the dress and items our troops carried into battle. Interact with the soldiers, see the weapons they used and learn about the clothing and other gear that these soldiers needed to outfit themselves on the battlefield.

We have 5 authors signing their works, and many historical sites to enrich your history of this area.  We have crafts people practicing their trade from back in the day, and vendors selling their wares. We will have food vendors there to satisfy your appetite. See our re-enactors fire their weapons and learn how troops are rescued using trained dogs.  Experience a duel between a patriot and a loyalist.  See vintage military vehicles and get your photos taken with a keepsake magnetic picture frame.

Listen to educational music by Damien Drago (Rockin thru History), while the kids can get their faces painted by Merrily the clown.  We have our friends from the Colonial Plantation and East Goshen Township Historical Commission teaching crafts such as making husk dolls.  We have century games for the kids to compete in as well.  Returning from last year, our Paoli Passport, is fun and educational as kids will have to go to each of the camps and ask questions of the re-enactors to win prizes during drawings throughout the day.  Kids can also join our Children's musket drills and learn how to fire a cannon with an artillery drill.

We end the day with our veterans ceremony at the grave-site of the 52 dead patriots of the Battle of Paoli, fought right here on this ground over 238 years ago.  We will have a wreath laying ceremony, followed by taps on the bugle, amazing grace on a bagpipe, and a firing salute.
