Dear Members:
Goodbye to summer, hello to fall. Where did the summer go? The last event I remember is the June gathering at my home! If you were not there, you missed a good time. We had about 20 MBPA members in attendance who enjoyed good cheer and delicious food. My way of thanking all of you for supporting me, your President, this year.
The MBPA thanks Francis Givnish for accepting the position of Vice President. Welcome Fran. Also thank you Sally Bernadine who is taking on the secretary position. We all welcome and look forward to working with Fran and Sally.
The MBPA is growing in numbers. I'm happy to report that as of June, we have 98 paid members - up from 64 last year. Membership forms will be mailed at the end of August, so watch for it. Please renew and find a new member, to help the Association continue to grow.
The Second Annual Malvern Chesco Grand Prix Cycling Event was held July 8th. In spite of a down pour at 4:30 P.M., the rains stopped at 5:00 PM, the sun came out, and so did the crowds. An exciting time was had by all.
The Mayor, Gerry McGlone, Duane Mile (our State Representative) and our star cyclist, Frank Ortner, Jr. entered the Celebrity Race. The Kids Race was a huge success and new this year was the lady cyclists. What fun! We had international professional cyclists - what excitement. They go like the speed of sound! The Canadians won the championship. To top it all off, we were able to donate $8,000.00 to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in their fight against pediatric cancer. Thanks to all who made it happen.
Our card exchange (we have had two) is a great way to meet fellow MBPA members and guests. Please join us for the next networking event. Contact Joanne Resendiz at joresendiz30@gmail.com if you're interested in hosting a card exchange. More details to follow.
Fall Festival and Paws in the Park will be September 29th... a great family event and something for everyone. Don't miss this festive occasion.
The Malvern Farmers' Market, every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Burke Park is a super addition to all the exciting happenings in our town. Please support the market. In addition to the fabulous food items, they have included activities for the children. Each week they have some form of great entertainment, music, etc.
We are currently seeking speakers for the MBPA general meetings. Please contact me via email at: missydaisy@comcast.net if you would like to tell us about your business at one of our general meetings. Let me know, please. It's free advertising and a great way to highlight your business. We are always looking for suggestions and new ideas as a way of creating interesting and alive meetings.
Thank you for your on-going support. I look forward to seeing you at our September 11, 2013 General Meeting at 6:00 P.M. at the Borough Hall. Our guest speaker is Susan Carty, President of The League of Women Voters.
Refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP to mbpainfo@yahoo.com
Respectfully,

The "what should be" never did exist, but people keep trying to live up to it.
There is no "what should be," there is only what is.
