Support the Neighborhood Small Grant Program in the City's Budget!

Bicycle Educators in Cully-CNN Neighborhood Small Grant Program-2012
The Neighborhood Small Grant Program boasts 7 years of stellar projects - putting money where it counts - in the community. The program has funded the projects of over 600 organizations across Portland. These projects were mostly partnerships with organizations that serve low-income youth, immigrants and refugees, communities of color and elders in our CNN neighborhoods.  In Portland collaborative grants ran an average of $2,000 per project and leveraged over five dollars for every single dollar granted. The City may decide to cut this valuable program in the budget! See the CNN projects funded over the years here and our neighboring SE coalition's call for action here. We hope to continue the best work there is which is to provide the opportunity for positive change from the community for the community.  The Neighborhood Small Grant Program is through the Office of Neighborhood Involvement.

More Green Space in the Cully Neighborhood!

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) and Parks Commissioner Amanda Fritz are pleased to announce that Portland City Council has unanimously approved the City's acquisition of 85 acres of natural area and the Colwood Golf Course. The land will be acquired and managed through a partnership with the Bureau of Environmental Services and Portland Parks & Recreation. The City's acquisition of the Colwood property is part of a long-term project that will reshape the existing property into the Cully neighborhood's most important public natural area. PP&R will manage more than one-third of the restored land as a natural area, protecting wildlife and water quality, creating a rare opportunity for Portlanders to access nature in the city.
