Our 42nd Ave NPI Community Design Fair
Tuesday, February 19th, St. Charles Church Gymnasium, 5310 NE 42nd Ave. 6-9 PM. Beginning with a grand kickoff party in early 2012 and continuing through the year, Our 42nd Avenue has been collecting your visions for our community. Help us take the next step together, as we apply those visions to designs that will help shape the community's future! The results of this event will directly inform the City's Comprehensive Plan Update and district zoning, effectively laying the groundwork for the future of our district. This is a fun, family-friendly event with free local food, music, language services and door-prizes! Whether you live, work, study or play in our community, all community members are welcome.
Northeast Health Fair March 3rd
The health fair will provide health screenings and information to community members living in Northeast Portland. This free community event will take place March 3rd from 9a-2p at St. Charles Church, 5310 NE 42nd. There will be healthy living demonstrations, as well as free screenings for diabetes, vision, glaucoma, hearing, and blood pressure and other health related services.  Activities for children will include face painting, a real Fire Truck, a visit from "The Nose", and prizes.  Representatives from Community Cycling will be providing free minor bike repairs.  Bike helmets for $5 with free fitting will also be available. The health fair is a collaborative effort organized by Northeast Neighborhood Nurses, a group health care professionals living in the NE area.

Portland Community Media Announces New Productions Program
PCM is excited to announce our new Community Productions program. We will be partnering with local non-profit and community organizations to cover local events and create programming for the public access channels and Comcast's Video-on-Demand, and we need your help!

Each production will be supervised by Joe Glode, PCM's Community Productions Coordinator, and staffed by PCM's volunteers and interns.

It will be a great opportunity to refine your production skills and learn new ones while producing local programming and collaborating with organizations throughout Portland. Anyone who is interested must be field or studio certified through PCM's media education workshops. If you are interested in being a part of the "pool" of volunteers for this project, and are willing to be contacted about future projects, please visit http://www.pcmtv.org/forms/community-productions-signup-form.
