We are excited to announce the 2013 grant awards!
With over $24, 000 in requests and $10, 000 available, this year's awards range from $500 to $2,000. Partnerships, leadership, new community building initiatives, and opportunities for under engaged groups in the CNN area are growing through this grant program:
- Community Involvement for Immigrant Teens-Madison SUN-IRCO-Hacienda
- Health for all Ages Fair in the Cully Neighborhood
- Madison High School Food Week-building healthy diverse families
- Our 42nd Ave. Community Design Workshop-Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative
- Scott SUN School Community Mural-youth creativity, community identity

| Living Stages Community Building Training for 82nd Ave. Neighbors | As part of the Eastside Forum Project, Living Stages is planning a Community Training, March 9-10, 2013 to continue to develop a performance troupe here along 82nd Avenue-- the 82nd Avenue Players! Community participants will receive training in community-building, leadership, and interactive theatre while developing a series of short interactive plays based on their own experiences of the challenges and possibilities of living, working, accessing services along 82nd Avenue. No theatre experience is necessary! The training will be offered free to members of the community along 82nd Avenue. Annual Placemaking Project Request For Proposals Now Available | Village Building Convergence events will happen for 10 days from late May and into early June. We will be assisting dozens of communities to come together and undertake transformative projects within their own localities. Most all of them will address ecological and community development concerns, including climate change. Audubon Neighborhood Greening Exchange | |
Join us for this half-day forum on community-driven greenspace projects will be held at Ventura Elementary School, 145 SE 117th Ave., Saturday, Dec. 8 9:30a to 2p. We'll share information and strategies on community driven neighborhood park, natural area, and other greenspace projects; learn about ongoing projects; and, inspire and educate new community greenspace advocates. Who should attend? Individuals interested in learning how to develop and implement a neighborhood green space projects, including trails, community gardens, natural area acquisition and restoration, or other public greenspace efforts. East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District Grants | |
Now Accepting Applications for the 2013 Partners in Conservation Grant Cycle.
$550,000 in grant funds is available for conservation projects (or events) that fit one or more of the following categories: * soil erosion prevention/control * soil health * environmental education * water quality * water conservation * watershed health * habitat restoration Visit our website at www.emswcd.org to view application guidelines and to download the application forms. Nature in Neighborhoods Capital Grants Program | |
Next round of Nature in Neighborhoods Capital Grant funding is now open. Metro is seeking applications for projects that re-green and re-nature neighborhoods. Full applications are accepted only from applicants who have been invited to apply after submitting a letter of interest. Letters of Interest are accepted at any time and staff encourage applicants to submit as soon as possible. Please note that it will be difficult for any project submitting a Letter of Interest after November 15th to incorporate staff feedback into a full application by the deadline. Full applications are due by 4 p.m. January 28, 2013.
