New Roseway Intersection Project | The first Village Building Convergence Project in Roseway happened on June 2nd! This intersection is located on 77th and Beech, on the proposed Neighborhood Greenway map formerly called Bike Boulevards. Neighbors and children participated in a fun gathering to paint a street graphic on the intersection. The design represents the art-deco era of the houses and buildings in our neighborhood and, of course, the many roses of Roseway! It helps to make this intersection area visible to motorist. As well, the project was lead by neighbors to create community while reducing graffiti in the area surrounding the intersection. For more information on Village Building Convergence projects please click here. |

New Maps Show Portland's Natural Hazards by Neighborhood | |
What's the earthquake risk in your neighborhood? Is your home or business located on a flood plain? To find out the answers to these questions and more, check out the new maps created by the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management (PBEM). The maps identify natural hazards throughout the city. They show known earthquake faults, flood plains and other dangers, including hazardous material sites, steep slopes and forested areas at risk of fire. The maps also show community resources - such as evacuation routes and key transportation corridors used during emergencies, hospitals, county clinics, schools, fire stations and police facilities - within each neighborhood coalition area. Each map can be downloaded directly from PBEM's website http://www.portlandonline.com/oem/index.cfm?c=58572 . Larger versions of CNN neighborhood maps are available for viewing in person at Central Northeast Neighbors 4415 NE 87th. Please call us to request a time to view 503-823-3156.
