 CROCODILE TURNED OVER TO

SUFFOLK COUNTY SPCA

A three foot long Crocodile was turned over to the Suffolk County SPCA today by Town of Huntington Animal Control Officials.

Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA said that Jerry Mosca, Director of the Huntington Animal Shelter received an anonymous call that the Crocodile was in a box in a parking lot at 25 Melville Park Rd., Melville, NY.  Mosca responded with another Animal Control Officer and found the Crocodile in an open top cardboard box.

Gross said that Mosca told him that the Crocodile was very aggressive and its mouth had to be taped shut.

A joint investigation will be conducted by Investigators from the Suffolk County SPCA and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Police to try and determine who left the Crocodile in the parking lot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.
