SUFFOLK COUNTY SPCA INVESTIGATES ANOTHER RITUALISTIC ACT INVOLVING ANIMAL PART
The Suffolk County SPCA is reaching out to the public for information about another possible ritualistic killing of an animal.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA said that this time an 18 inch long animal tongue was found in a wooded area off the roadway in East Islip near the intersection of Montauk Hwy and Union Blvd. The tongue was slit down the middle and had candle wax and a straight pin in it and was wrapped in red fabric material. A white candle and red cloth were also found nearby. Experts consulted by the SCSPCA confirmed that this find is suspected to be part of a ritual where a message is being sent out, according to Chief Gross.
A one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) reward is being offered by the Suffolk County SPCA for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for animal slaughter. The New York State Humane Association is also offering a one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) reward.
Gross said that anyone with information can call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722 and that all calls will be kept confidential.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. "Protecting Suffolk County's animals is the only job we do!"
