SUFFOLK SPCA SEEKS INFORMATION ON DEAD KITTENS

The Suffolk County SPCA is seeking information from the public about 3 kittens that were found dead and decapitated in an industrial area in Ronkonkoma.

Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA said that the decapitated kittens were found on Wednesday April 29th by a woman who cares for feral cat colonies.  Gross said the kittens, estimated to be about 5 days old, were lined up next to each other and very little blood was found.  The kittens were found in the vicinity of 2221 5th Avenue, Ronkonkoma. This is a vicious, heinous act of animal cruelty and how anyone could do this to these kittens is beyond reason, Gross said.  Studies have shown that acts of violence, such as this, toward animals can be a precursor to violence against humans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.
