ANOTHER ALLIGATOR TURNED IN TO AUTHORITIES IN SUFFOLK COUNTY
Another Alligator has been turned to the Suffolk County SPCA and NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation. This time, the 3 foot long reptile came from a home in Shirley.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA said that the reptile, a Smooth Face Caiman was turned in and was so nasty and dangerous, it could hardly be handled. Gross said that these wild creatures are not pets and should not be kept confined in the home.
The Caiman appeared healthy and was transferred by the SPCA to a licensed reptile sanctuary out of state.
