HAPPY ENDING TO A SAD STORY
The Suffolk County SPCA announced today that "Bean" has found his forever home.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA said that the agency was contacted last month by two passerby's that they found a small, emaciated, matted dog in a cage covered with feces and urine on the side of Candlewood Dr., Brentwood. The dog, a Silky Terrier, was near death and was taken to Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists where he was nicknamed Bean and nursed back to health.
Gross said that one of the Suffolk County SPCA Officers who was working on the case has adopted Bean and the dog is happy in his new home with his canine brother "Louie."
Bean, who was only 4.6 lbs. when found is now weights of 11.5 lbs.

SUFFOLK COUNTY SPCA OFFERS A $2,000.00 REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON ABANDONED DOG
The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a TWO thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for abandoning a male
Silky/Yorkie Terrier-type dog in Brentwood.
The SPCA was notified Sunday that the dog was found in a cage on the side of Candlewood Rd and was covered in feces and urine and was extremely matted.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA said that the dog was brought to a 24 hour Veterinary Hospital where upon further examination it was found to be emaciated and had open sores on its body. The dog's weight was only 4.6 lbs, according to Gross. It needed aggressive medical attention to save its life, as it was near death.
