Alumni Newsletter | April 2015 |
Spring is Here!
Spring means new beginnings and rebirth; flowers blooming, birds chirping, motorcycles rumbling and bicycles rolling. Maybe this means more to those of us who live in the northern states and colder climates but to everyone spring can be a refreshing beginning. At Concordia University Wisconsin, spring means commencement, which is a new beginning for our students.
Do you remember your graduation day and the excitement of starting a new chapter in your life? Maybe it was last year or 50 years ago. Check out in this newsletter and on the Alumni webpage for the many opportunities for you to reconnect with your classmates or connect with like-minded Concordia alumni. We would love to know what is new with you and so would your classmates, so please make sure to click on the "What's New With You?" box on the left bottom column to update us.
As you read through this edition and you have an idea you want to share, please feel free to email me at michelle.wagner@cuw.edu. I look forward to continuing to serve you.

Director of Alumni & Parent Relations

Respite Event - Volunteers Needed! |

CUW is partnering with Children's Hospital for our Volunteer Respite Program, which strengthens families with children who have special needs by giving the parents or caregivers a much-needed break. The respite event includes a full day of fun activities. One or two volunteers are matched with a child to provide one-on-one quality care. Please consider volunteering; ask a friend or group to join you for Respite Day - May 3rd in the CUW Fieldhouse from 8:15 am - 2:00 pm.
If you are interested in volunteering contact CUW alumna, Ellie at ellie.mercadoschoessow@cuw.edu or 262-343-3624 or click here to register as a volunteer.

Connecting with CUW Alumni through LinkedIn
|
We have been told many times in life, it's not what you know but who know. At Concordia, we feel it is not one or the other but both. Concordia played a major role in your knowledge base and we want to encourage you to take advantage of who you know through other CUW alumni. We are 26,000+ alumni strong and growing our numbers every year by another 2000, between our traditional and non-traditional undergraduates and graduate alumni.
In case you were not aware of it, LinkedIn has a nice tool for alumni of universities. Whether you are looking for a new job, resource connections, services or employees, you can connect with other CUW alumni through the Concordia University's page on LinkedIn. You can check it out by clicking here. To make sure you are linked to the correct university page you need to use Concordia University-Wisconsin on your personal LinkedIn education profile with the logo from above. There should be no spaces between the dash. If you don't have the correct Concordia University-Wisconsin on your education listing you will not be included on our university page, so please check your LinkedIn profile. It is an excellent way for other CUW alumni to connect with you and for you to connect with them.

Alumni Notes and Profile Updates |
Have you recently received a promotion or an award? Did you just get married or have a baby? Did you move or change companies or positions? Alumni are interested in what other CUW alumni are doing and so are we. Don't be shy, we have great alumni and we are proud of what you have accomplished. We care about you and want to know if you were just married or had your first or third child.
May 1 is the deadline to include your information in the next Concordian. However, you can send it anytime to be posted online under alumni news. If it does not make it for the current printed edition of the Concordian, we will keep it for the next one. Encourage other CUW alumni to share their news. We do need permission to post information.
It is also important we have your current contact information so that we can share updates and ask your opinion on topics of interest to you. To share your news and/or update your information, click here or email us your news at alumni@cuw.edu.
