Happy New Year!

Everything that we have - right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start - comes from God by way of Jesus Christ.  1 Corinthians 1:30

It is a new day, a new year; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)We can wipe the slate clean and start fresh. New goals and resolutions for our personal and professional life; regenerate last year's and make new ones for this year. At Concordia University Wisconsin we are coming to the end of Winterim and spring semester begins on January 26th. Many of the students and faculty are returning from mission trips and are renewed from their experiences.  It is an exciting time of year.  As you begin your new year we invite and encourage you to renew your Concordia spirit and become involved in the many opportunities available to you from your alma mater.  Stay tuned!

Wishing us all God's guidance and blessings as we plan for the New Year,

Michelle "Mickie" Wagner

Interim Deans Named For The School of Business Administration

Dr. Suzanne Siegle and Dr. Jane Bishop have been named interim deans to succeed Dean Dr. David Borst. Concordia University Wisconsin has been in search-mode since the early fall and will launch a nationwide search for the next dean of its School of Business Administration in early 2015.

Dr. Siegle currently serves as Campus Dean at Concordia University Ann Arbor. Dr. Bishop has been on the Concordia University Wisconsin faculty for three years. In a joint statement, they underscore that collaboration, faculty engagement, and an emphasis on academic rigor, entrepreneurship, and increased partnerships with the local business community stand at the top of their shared agenda. CIT - Ann Arbor, MI  |  January 30-31

Road trip! Or maybe you're a CUW alumnus living in Michigan. We invite you to join us for the 64th annual Concordia Invitational Tournament, hosted by our Ann Arbor campus. You can show your Falcon spirit by helping the CUW Pep band and students cheer on the CUW women's and men's teams as we take on three other Concordia basketball teams. Before you go to the games (A1 on the campus map), stop by the alumni table in the student union building (C2 on the campus map) to say hi and pick up some CUW spirit items.  We'd love to hear what is new with you!  Then on Saturday, January 31st, join us from 4-5 p.m. in the game room located in the student union building for a CUAA/CUW alumni reception.

Visit the Concordia Ann Arbor website for more information on hotels, locations, schedule, and ticket reservations.  We hope to see you there!

Monthly Servant Leader Roundtable  | February 12

Servant leadership - a philosophy and set of practices that enriches the lives of individuals, builds better organizations and ultimately creates a more just and caring world.

Starting February 12th, we will be hosting a monthly Servant Leader Roundtable at Concordia. On the second Thursday of each month, in conjunction with Servant Leader Milwaukee, Concordia University's Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) and the Office of Alumni Relations will be hosting a Servant Leader Roundtable from 7:30 to 8:30 am at Concordia in Mequon. Discussion will be based initially on topics from the book The Case for Servant Leadership by Dr. Kent M. Keith. While the topic will change each month, the enduring theme of the roundtable is "the wisdom is in the room."

Participation in the roundtable discussion is free, but highly valuable.  Please arrive by 7:15 am if you wish to purchase ($6.75) breakfast from our dining hall, located near the meeting room.  For more information or to register for the February 12th roundtable, click here.
