A New Year Begins With a New Program

On August 25, CUW welcomed eight people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to our Mequon campus. In a joint effort with Bethesda Lutheran Communities, CUW is offering a two-year program providing them with an opportunity to realize the dream of being college students.

Family Weekend - October 3-5

Join in the festivities as CUW welcomes families to our campus. Whether you have a student at CUW or not, we encourage you to partake in the activities. On Friday night at 7:30, music lovers can enjoy a FREE sampler concert performed by the students in the Chapel of Christ Triumphant.  Volleyball fans can watch the CUW women's team play on Friday at 7:00 pm, against the Concordia University Chicago Cougars, and again on Saturday at noon, against Benedictine. Football fans can cheer as our team takes on the Concordia University Chicago Cougars at 1:00 pm.

2014 Hall of Fame Inductees

William C. Ackmann The William C. Ackmann Memorial Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1995 to honor the most celebrated athletes of Concordia University Wisconsin. Each year nominations are accepted from CUW coaches and alumni.  A committee reviews the applications and selects the inductees.

This year's induction will be held on November 1st during Homecoming weekend. Current Athletic Hall of Fame members are encouraged to attend the ceremony and celebrate with the six new inductees:

Edwin Hattstaedt (1918)

Amanda (Commons) Cunningham (2005)

Jon Collier (2006)

Travis Moulton (2006)

Andy Steffen (2006)

Micah Lorenzen (2009)

Homecoming - October 31-November 2

Show your Falcon Pride during Homecoming by participating in the many activities planned for the weekend.  Highlights include a Pops Concert on Friday night, the Hall of Fame induction (see above), a football game against Benedictine with a CUW alumni hospitality tent and several more athletic events. Watch for more details in next month's e-newsletter.

New Call Center

Each year Concordia students develop valuable work skills as they call CUW alumni, and this year they will be making their calls from a brand new call center!  This is a great chance for you to talk with current students, giving them an opportunity to update any of your information that may have changed, inform you of events and activities taking place on campus, and encourage you in your support of your alma mater.  Thank you for answering their call.

2014-2015 Academic Year Theme:

Hope in His Faithfulness

Lamentations 3:21-23

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
