 June 2013 Alumni Newsletter
Greetings from CUW!

Just like CUW's campus, the CUW Alumni Association is always changing and growing.  As your new Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, I want to take a moment to introduce myself.

After earning my B.A. from CUW in 2009, I moved across the country and was responsible for operations and revenue at an entertainment company.  It's amazing how much CUW has grown in just the last four years.  It's exciting to be part of a growing CUW community.

If you have feedback on past events, new ideas, or would like to become more involved in the CUW Alumni Association, I'd love to hear from you.  This is your Alumni Association!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Looking Back

Waterpark Weekend

Though this is the first official newsletter of summer, I want to reflect on one of our spring events with a very summer-like feel.

In late April, the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells became the home base for the CUW Alumni Association for one weekend.  Over 100 rooms were filled with CUW alumni and their families.  Blue and white CUW wristbands could be seen all over the 600 acre resort - some preferred to lounge and soak up the sun, while others hopped from waterpark to waterpark searching for the next waterslide to conquer.  No matter how alumni chose to spend their weekend, everyone had a smile on his or her face.

Events like this are a great way to keep alumni connected to Concordia and to each other.  If you have ideas for future events or feedback for us, we'd love to hear from you (alumni@cuw.edu ).

Looking Forward

Reunion Weekend

Summer is a great time to visit Concordia.  Out of our many upcoming events, I want to highlight Reunion Weekend (June 21-23).  This is the perfect chance to re-connect with classmates and check out what's new on campus.

The weekend's events include a dinner and reception on Friday night hosted by President Ferry, a chance to go back to the classroom on Saturday, and a Lakeshore Chinooks game in Concordia's new Kapco Park on Saturday night.

CUW Names New Residence Hall

It's official.  CUW's newest residence hall finally has a name.  Chemnitz.

Named after Martin Chemnitz, a prominent Lutheran theologian and reformer, the newest building on campus is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013.  When filled to capacity, Chemnitz will house 274 students on a total of five floors.  It is located between Coburg and Augsburg on the northeast side of campus.

As Chemnitz is still under construction, check out the construction progress here!
