	NEW ARRIVAL! 2010 Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico Berardenga Tuscany "The 2010 Chianti Classico is beautiful, pointed and articulate. Sweet red berries, anise, flowers, spices and licorice are some of the many notes that flow from this gorgeous Chianti. The freshness and vibrancy are pure 2010. The Chianti Classico is 100% Sangiovese aged in a combination of casks and smaller French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020." (WA) Wine Advocate: 91 pts. "(13.5% alcohol): Good full, bright red. Pungent, high-pitched aromas of redcurrant, red cherry and rose petal, lifted by a spicy component. Suave, silky and dry, offering plenty of red fruit and floral flavors without obvious weight. A refined, outstanding entry-level Chianti that lingers impressively on the smooth finish." 	NEW ARRIVAL! 2009 Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico Berardenga Reserva Tuscany "The 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva is stunningly beautiful. It boasts a great core of dark red fruit, licorice, spices, new leather and herbs. The 2009 impresses for its mid-palate density and sheer power. This is a great showing. The 2009 can be enjoyed today, but it is rather muscular, and is probably best suited for aging a few years. This is a terrific showing. A recent bottle of the 1995 was stunning in its beauty. The Riserva is 100% Sangiovese aged in a combination of casks and smaller French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029." (WA) Wine Advocate: 93 pts. "(13.5% alcohol): Dark, bright red. Rather tight but pure nose hints at raspberry, flowers and minerals. Pliant, perfumed and sweet in the mouth, with precise red cherry and mineral flavors complicated by hints of earth and tobacco on the smooth finish. A solid riserva bottling." 	NEW ARRIVAL! 2009 Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico Berardenga Riserva Rancia Tuscany "A well of cherry and licorice notes draws you in, with meat, cherry, currant and spice flavors backed by beefy tannins. This is on the lean, taut side, but vibrant, pure and full of personality. Think steak. To be released late 2012. Best from 2014 through 2025. 50,000 cases made." (WS) Wine Spectator: 92 pts. "The 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia more than holds its own in this complete vertical. It shows elements of both a cold year in its mid-weight structure and a warmer vintage in its radiant fruit, a combination that represents an attractive stylistic middle ground. I very much like the sense of energy and intensity here. Bright acidity and youthful tannins frame the supple fruit. It will be interesting to see whether the 2009 develops along the lines of the cooler vintage Rancias, or whether the juiciness of the fruit will ultimately prevail in the wine's balance. Either way, the 2009 is yet another terrific Rancia from Felsina. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." (WA) Wine Advocate: 94 pts. "Dark ruby-red. Concentrated aromas of red berries, earth, aromatic herbs and flint. Then rich, suave and full in the mouth, with thick flavors of red and dark fruits, loam and rosemary. The long finish features peppery tannins. This is very impressive but I find it a bit chunkier than most recent versions of Rancia, with less perfume than this high-quality sangiovese usually delivers." 	NEW ARRIVAL! 2009 Fattoria di Felsina Cabernet Sauvignon Maestro Raro Tuscany "Black currant, cherry, cedar, olive and coffee aromas and flavors are intense, yet match the refined structure in this classy red. The tannins are assertive and ripe, providing grip and focus. The finish evokes black currant, herb and spice notes. Best from 2015 through 2030. 6,000 cases made. " (WS) Wine Spectator: 95 pts. "Ruby-red. Spicy red- and blackcurrant aromas are complemented by cocoa and smoky minerals. Medium-weight red fruit flavors show good concentration but turn austere at the back. The spicy note repeats on the smoothly tannic finish. This serious cab requires at least a few more years in the cellar to harmonize and soften." (IWC) International Wine Cellar: 89 pts. 	NEW ARRIVAL! 2009 Fattoria di Felsina Fontalloro Tuscany "This red combines black cherry, black currant, tar and spice notes that move curtly across the palate. The vivid structure needs time to integrate. Shows fine length, with a dry impression. Sangiovese. Best from 2015 through 2026. 40,000 cases made." (WS) Wine Spectator: 89 pts. "The 2009 Fontalloro is 100% Sangiovese from three vineyards; Fontalloro in Chianti Classico and Casalino and Arcidossino, both in the Chianti Colli Senesi appellation. Here too, the vineyards are over 50 years old. Sweet red cherries, tobacco, flowers and spices meld together beautifully in this deep, resonant Fontalloro. This is a more immediate, round style than the Rancia. Ripe, silky tannins frame the long, polished finish. Today the Fontalloro isn't as expressive as the Rancia, but it generally has a shorter drinking window. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. " (WA) Wine Advocate: 93 pts. "(100% sangiovese): Bright red. Captivating aromas of red cherry, raspberry, licorice and sweet spices. Juicy and tightly wound but essentially pliant, with smooth red fruit and licorice flavors complicated by aromatic fresh herbs. Turns more focused as the acidity peeks through on the moderate finish. Drink now." (WS) Wine Spectator: 86 pts. "The 2010 I Sistri is dynamite. The energy and pure vibrancy of the vintage comes through in spades. White stone fruits with a slight overtone of tropical notes, spices, mint and flowers are woven together beautifully. This is a fabulous showing from Felsina, and that is coming from someone who is generally far from a fan of Tuscan Chardonnay. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. Just when I thought I was familiar with the wines of Felsina, the estate comes through with one of the very best sets of new releases I have ever tasted. From top to bottom, these are marvelous wines that deserve serious attention. Proprietor Giuseppe Mazzocolin has stepped down from some of his day-to-day duties, but the wines are as good as they have ever been.
