Domaine Serene
Pinot Noir
Evenstad Reserve
Willamette Valley

"Sleek and tangy, tightly focusing its cherry, raspberry and mineral flavors on a taut frame. Finishes with intensity and a hint of black olive. Drink now through 2018. 8,000 cases made." (WS)
Wine Spectator: 93 pts.
"The 2008 Evenstad Reserve has a super-expressive nose of smoke, spice, mineral, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. This leads to a medium-bodied, stuffed wine containing layers of ripe fruit, outstanding volume, vibrant acidity, and a lengthy, velvety finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years of additional bottle age and will offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2020. Domaine Serene's 2008 Pinot Noirs are outstanding across the portfolio." (WA)
Wine Advocate: 92 pts.

"Deep, but not in the least overdone and a bit on the firm side in balance, the 2008 Evenstad Reserve is a mid-sized Pinot Noir of quiet complexity and grace with a trim mix of ripe red cherries, sweet oak, green tea and herbs running its length. It is not a big wine, and it shows more a little more lean muscle than fat, and, while it takes on a bit of tightening, last-minute tannin, another few years in the cellar are sure to set most everything right. Reviewed: June 2012" (CG)
Connoisseurs' Guide: 92 pts.
"Dark, full, generous and ripe to the far edge of elegance, this powerful Pinot is saturated with black fruits, annotated with fennel, pepper, smoke and espresso, the rich and varied flavors rolling right through a lush midpalate and on into a gently fading finish. Retasted over 24–48 hours, it continued to evolve and develop additional nuances. A wine to cellar for...-P.G. (6/1/2012)" (WE)
Wine Enthusiast: 94 pts.

"This is exceptionally fresh and beautifully complex with a spicy nose of various red berry fruit and floral aromas. The succulent, even opulent medium weight flavors possess a plush mouth feel as the firm yet silky tannins impart a sophisticated texture to the dusty, firm and overtly spicy finish. Because the tannins are so ripe and pliant, this could easily be enjoyed now though for my taste I would allow it to mature for a few more years first." (BH)
