Chateau de Lancyre
Rose
Coteaux du Languedoc

Purchased in 1970 by the Durand and Valentin families, the Château was originally built in the 1500's, on the ruins of a 12th century fort. Records of winemaking date back to 1550! Lancyre is now viewed among the top estates of Pic Saint-Loup, which has justifiably garnered a reputation as the Languedoc's best wine district.
Tasting Notes:
A big rosé! Raspberry and pear aromas on the nose, with distinctive spicy, minty garrigue notes. Big, bold and firm on the palate, ending with a long, clean finish.
Serve With:
A rosé for year round drinking! Excellent on its own, it is also a great food wine-pair with hearty salads, grilled vegetables, kebabs, stuffed tomatoes or charcuterie.
Composition:
50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 10% Cinsault.

Chateau Mas Guiot
Rose
Costieres de Nimes

My dear friends François and Sylvia Cornut are in charge here as proprietors. Located in the Costières de Nîmes appellation, François and Sylvia grow both beautiful grapes, and incredible fruit (apricots & cherries), in the area where the Provence, Rhône and Languedoc regions all meet around the mouth of the Rhône River. All work is done by hand with great care and skill, and their wines reflect the authentic Provencal setting. This dry rosé is bursting with flavor and fruit, it is a blend of mainly Grenache, with some Syrah and a small dollop of Mourvedre. This wine has lovely color, deeper than most Rosé.
Composition:
85% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre

Mas Carlot
Rose
Costieres de Nimes

Constructed around the seventeenth century, this old Provençal Mas was brought back to life by the Blanc family, who purchased the estate in the Sixties. Located on the western edge of the Rhône River, in the village of Bellegarde, southeast of the city of Nîmes, the vineyards are in the heart of the appellation's cailloux-based soil. In the old Provençal dialect, "Mas" means farm, and Nathalie Blanc-Marès is beautifully managing this 75 hectares farm with the aid of her husband Cyril Marès, owner of the neighboring property Mas des Bressades (yes, she married the boy-next-door). They are a great Provençal family-young and energetic with great vision and talent. The vineyards were planted in the 1950's and 1960's to the current varietals. The vines are trained using a system called Cordon de Royat, which helps maintain lower fruit production. Mas Carlot limits yields to around 45hl/ha, which is one-third below what the appellation allows. Nathalie likes to wait during harvest - picking late to obtain the maximum maturity for each grape varietal.
This Rosé is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah all of which have been bled from tank. This is a gorgeous Rosé, loaded with wonderfully intermingled flavors of strawberries and graced by hints of spring flowers and spice. It's lush on the palate, with a long, harmonious finish.
Composition:
60% Grenache and 40% Syrah

Mas des Bressades
Rose
Costieres de Nimes

The 99-acre estate of Mas des Bressades is considered by many as the top estate in Costières de Nîmes, located 35 miles southwest of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on the western side of the Rhône. It is run by Cyril Marès and his lovely wife Natalie Blanc, who owns the adjacent estate, Mas Carlot. This beautiful Rosé is made by saignée of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. Cyril Marès limits yields of these varietals and harvests the fruit specifically to produce rosé wine. This savvy approach assures the delicate color and powerful perfumes found in the Mas des Bressades Rosé. This wine is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault and is vinified completely in tank. The Grenache vines here are between 25 and 60+ years old and the Syrah and Cinsault are in their 30's. The yields for this wine are between 35 and 40 hectoliter per hectare. With vivid and pale color, it always shows extraordinary bright fruit and spice in the nose. Fat in the mouth, it is a well-balanced rosé with very precise aromas. A real pleasure! You may drink it by itself for your apéritif or to accompany summer meals, like grilled fish or meat.
Composition:
50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault
