February 2016
A Very Successful Day at the Capitol!
Teresa Keller, MCB Director of Operations, Christa Atchison, MCB Executive Director and Makayla Koch, President, MCB Youth Advisory Board.
John Gulick, MCB Board Member, Representative Jim Hansen and Robin Simpson, MCB Vice-President.

Louis Riggs, MCB Board Member, John Gulick, MCB Board Member, Geri Mills and Debbie Fisk, Annapolis, MCB Community.

The "Day at the Capitol" was an excellent opportunity to network and educate our legislators and individuals on the goals and objectives of MCB and how we continue to improve the benefits we provide Missouri communities.

Attendees kicked off the day with a breakfast provided by Representative Craig Redmon and the Northeast Missouri Development Partnership.  Many conversations were had by our volunteers with their legislators and others attending the event throughout the day.  Christa Atchison spoke at the Great Northwest afternoon session.  The responses she received following the session were very positive.  Several of the board members and staff attended the Great Northwest Days evening event as well.

This type of outreach allows for networking that is crucial to the growth and success of MCB.  Follow up conversations lead to opportunities that might otherwise have not been possible.

2016 Regional Meeting Schedule

The speaker at the 2016 Regional Meetings will be discussing volunteerism; both recruiting volunteers and retaining them over time.  It is impossible to have a successful community without volunteers and we all know that they are hard to come by and even harder to keep.  Everyone is busy and those who have served for years often times reach a point of burn out.

Join us as DeNae Gitonga shares her expertise in this area.
