If you are a little tired of being constantly bombarded with bad news, let me brighten up your day a little bit.

I recently attended the launch of the Pack Internship Grant Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. This is a program created for students, by students, whereby UNR's student government leaders developed and funded a program to provide paid internships.

The students partnered with great local businesses, non-profits, and agencies to provide real life work experiences for their fellow students.

Words fail to express how proud I am of these student leaders.

Please take this good news as a small reminder of the wonderful students we have throughout the Nevada System of Higher Education. Great things like this program are happening every day on every campus.

When I watch the news, I worry about the future, but when I watch these and all our students throughout the state, I smile and know we have a bright future in Nevada.
