2014 NSHE SOUTHERN NEVADA DIVERSITY SUMMIT
TO BE HELD OCT. 3 AT CSN

Las Vegas, Nevada - Oct. 1, 2014 


 

The Nevada System of Higher Education will hold its 2014 Southern Nevada Diversity Summit this Friday, Oct. 3, from 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the College of Southern Nevada, Cheyenne Campus (Horn Theatre). The event is free of charge and open to the public. 

The summit will focus on creating student "pipelines for success" with the morning plenaries and afternoon track sessions related to diversity, student success initiatives, workforce and economic development, as well as community engagement.


The keynote speaker is Dr. Luis Ponjuan of Texas A&M who will discuss improving student outcomes, particularly those regarding minority males. Other topics include veteran success and retention, Latino youth partnerships, and advocacy efforts for non-traditional students.
