Congratulations to our 2013 regional award winners and many thanks to our speakers, exhibitors, and attendees at TechEDGE 2013. The 12th annual gathering of the region's technology community was simply incredible! Our region's technology community continues to expand and pave the way for future economic success in Region 2000. Thank you for your continued support and participation! Another regional success story is the opening of XLR8 - The Lynchburg Regional Governor's STEM Academy this fall on the campus of CVCC. TechEDGE 2013 Winners Announced

 
We hosted our annual TechEDGE conference in downtown Lynchburg on May 23. With a large crowd in attendance, TechEDGE 2013 proved to be another successful gathering for Lynchburg area technology, business and education leaders. With four themed sessions, twelve speakers, business networking, member exhibits, and more, TechEDGE is the premiere event of it's kind in the region.
 
TechEDGE also featured the Technology Council's decade long tradition of presenting regional technology awards to local leaders in education, industry and small business. These winners are highlighted for their best practices and outstanding excellence in their fields...

It's time again for the Region 2000 Technology Council's annual barbecue. Save the date for our 3rd Annual Summer Barbecue coming up on August 8th at the Center for Advanced Engineering & Research (CAER). This will be a casual time of networking and gathering as the technology community. We hope to see you there! Look for more details in the coming weeks.

Liberty University Offers Oracle Training
Liberty University offers Oracle training
 
Oracle University is a respected online institution devoted to technology education. Liberty University is a certified partner in Oracle's Workforce Development Partner program, which offers affordable, flexible, industry recognized Oracle courses to teach the skills needed for employment and enhanced earning potential.

As part of this partnership, students also will receive college credit for each course taken. This training is available in an online eight-week format to those working towards a specific degree as well as non-degree-seeking students.

Virginia SBDC 2013 Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program

The Virginia Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) Network is pleased to continue the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) assisting Virginians who are commercializing innovations in Clean Technologies(CT), Modeling & Simulation(M&S), and Biometrics (BioM).  

 

ICAP seeks to grow Virginia companies and jobs in these emerging industry sectors. ICAP will provide participants (Virginia businesses, entrepreneurs commercializing Biometrics, CT or M&S innovations) with a FREE Client Market Assessment on their innovation,
developed by subject matter experts in their industry.
