AWHHomecoming 5K Walk/Run for Scholarships Raises Support for Students at MCC

 

More than 400 MCC faculty, staff, alumni and community members raised over $15,000 for student scholarships during this year's Homecoming festivities! Before the race, participants enjoyed music, a bounce house, photo booth, face painting, Fitness Fair and Zumba warm up. After the race the fun continued with Tribunes soccer matches and a Tailgate Party where awards were handed out to five lucky MCC students' who won a total of $4,000 in scholarships. Be sure to join us next year for our 9th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Scholarships to be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015!

Kristallnacht Program: Some Were Neighbors

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Historian Susan D. Bachrach, Ph.D. will speak about the museum's "Some Were Neighbors" exhibit at the 23rd annual Kristallnacht Program hosted by the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Project.

Rochester Children's Book Festival

Recognize any of these children's books: Fancy Nancy, Bunnicula, Five Little Monkeys, A Long Walk to Water, Pig Kahuna, A Single Shard or Dot and Jabber? Not only are all of these great reads, but they're also produced by local talent.  And you can meet their authors and illustrators in person at MCC.  Now in its 18th year, the Rochester Area Children's Writers and Illustrators group's annual book festival offers a phenomenal way to connect with over 40 local children's authors and illustrators.  More than 350 titles for children of all ages will be on display - purchase signed copies as gifts or treasured keepsakes.  Additionally, the festival provides book-related activities for children throughout the day, including author readings and conversations.
