Philadelphia OUCH! Race

In other news, we are excited to announce that Philly Achilles has partnered with a brand new race series that will be launching its first ever event in Philadelphia on August 24, 2014. The OUCH! Race is unlike any other - runners and walkers can choose their finishing distance while on the course instead of at registration. The course offers participants three distances to choose from - a 5k, 10k and 15k, all of which start and end at Memorial Hall with break-off points along the course.

And as runners, you know it's all about the bling! Wait until you see these medals and race shirts! This is the perfect way to challenge yourself - if you don't feel up to running the full 15k or if it's just not your day, you can drop to 10k or 5k and still get that medal.

We'll be forming a team so please notify Melissa at president@phillyachilles.com if you want to represent Philly Achilles in this groundbreaking inaugural race!

About The Cause

The OUCH! Race supports the Bates-Jensen Wound Reach Foundation, which is making a difference around the world by providing research grants, sponsoring travel scholarships to medical professionals and supporting the needs of wound clinics domestically. Additionally, the Wound Reach Foundation promotes movement as a way to prevent wounds and/or amputation and as a way to speed up the healing process. And of course, programs like Achilles provide the perfect outlet for getting active and staying fit, so let's do all we can to support this tremendous organization. Go check out their website for more information at: www.ouchrace.com

See you all Saturday at 9am. Happy running!
