Philadelphia Chapter
Congrats BSR Finishers -- Next up, Chicago! -- Exciting New Personal Coaching Services

So proud of all our Philly Achilles runners who conquered Broad Street on Sunday! Hats off to Kinzey Lynch, Chris Lynch, Matt Turner, Tom Cobb, Mark McCowan, Bruce Linsky, all of their awesome guides, and the best cheering section a team could ask for. First-time finishers Chris and Katie glowed brighter than their medals. Through the blood, sweat and tears (and maybe a mid-race subway ride), we all made it through, coming across the finish line with smiles. And thanks to Philadelphia Runner for organizing a post-race tailgate for us.

"I get knocked down / But I get up again / You're never gonna keep me down..." Go Achilles!

In other race news, the team will be taking a road trip in a few weeks to Chicago for the Soldier Field 10-Miler. We'll get to meet our peers from the Chicago Chapter and celebrate Memorial Day weekend in the Windy City. And mark your calendars - the annual Achilles Hope & Possibility 5-miler in NYC will take place on June 29th. We'll be coordinating a Philly Achilles team again this year!

Finally, we're excited to announce a new program exclusive to our Philly Achilles family.  Volunteer Ashley Dougherty, a Certified Personal Trainer, has offered to donate her services and expertise to our team.  Ashley, whose dad is an athlete with Retinitis Pigmentosa (a degenerative visual impairment that leads to blindness), has a personal connection to our organization's mission.  She'll put together customized training and nutrition programs for interested athletes and volunteers, and will even conduct some in-house fitness sessions for the group.  Please see her bio below.  She'll explain more about what she can do for you at the workout on Saturday.  Welcome Ashley, and thank you!!
