Sketch the Stikine!
April 27th
The ultimate field trip aboard the M/V Denali featuring artist Kathy Hocker and the Stikine River.
Field sketching is drawing with the purpose of understanding the natural world, and strengthening our connections with nature. Keeping a sketch journal is a great way to explore this style of drawing. In this workshop, we'll start with an introduction to field sketching, including examples of types of sketch journals and warm-up exercises.
At one or more stops on the lower river, the group will work on sketchbook exercises designed to focus on patterns and connections in nature. Field trip participants will receive a sketchbook, drawing supplies and a handout that describes a number of other sketchbook games and exercises
to extend their experience.
  • $125.00 for the three hour guided field sketching tour and supplies.
  • We are limiting the number of passengers to 8 in order to optimize comfort and freedom of movement.
  • Petersburg Guests will be picked up & dropped off at Banana Point.
