12 days of giving ~ day 11

Dear Bayside Friend,

Good morning and welcome to Day 1
1 of the 12 days of giving.  We hope you have been enjoying the personal stories that we have been sharing with you.  We hope that these stories have provided you an opportunity to have a closer look at the personal experiences of real people.  If you have already given, we greatly thank you.  If you have not yet had a chance, please consider donating during our 12 days of giving now through December 20, 2013.

A cancer survivor in her later years of life, Mojgan* lives in Linda Vista alone, many hours from the only family members living in this country.

 

Mojgan learned about the Linda Vista Community Garden at Bayside and came by to learn how she could participate.  Every day we see her in the garden, tending her vegetables, chatting with other gardeners, and nurturing a fragrant Iranian mint she uses to make a powerful antioxidant tea.  The beautiful view, smell of the earth, fresh organic food, and the company of others is the best medicine for Mojgan, enhancing her health and well-being.
