12 days of giving ~ day 9

Dear Bayside Friend,
Good morning and welcome to Day 9 of the 12 days of giving. Each day we will highlight a personal story from someone whose life has been impacted by Bayside's work. These stories will give you an opportunity to have a closer look at the personal experiences of real people. If you have already given, we greatly thank you. If you have not yet had a chance, please consider donating during our 12 days of now through December 20, 2013.
DAY 9
Food Security
Thank Goodness It's Food Day
Daniel* looks forward to receiving an extra treat to take home to his family every Friday. Attending Bayside's Academic Club after school improves his grades, and on Friday a big bag of fresh produce improves his health. Daniel especially loves the apples and pears, sometimes asking if he can have an extra one for a snack on his way home. When his mom picks him up, he excitedly tells her what's in the bag and shares a piece of fruit with his little brother. The Thank Goodness It's Food Day program helps meet the the nutritional needs of hungry children over weekends and school holidays, giving the family access to fresh and healthy produce, teaching children to make better food choices, and improving food security.
Please consider donating during our 12 days of giving now through December 20, 2013 to support a family like Daniel's.
We've simplified the donation procedure, allowing supporters to donate on line through our new FirstGiving page.
