Greetings!
Improvements are happening quickly at the Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library. Soon the outdated computer lab of the eighties will be a thing of the past! By working together with Staff, Friends, Volunteers, Library and Foundation Boards, and the Initiative Foundation, "LE CONNECTION" will soon be up and running. This updated area will provide amenities to our patrons and those we serve. A prosperous social enterprise, Backstreet Books, featuring used books & repurposed book art, (which was created by the Friends in 2011 to assure sustainability for the Library) will be expanded and with the help of a TOP Grant from the Initiative Foundation, a business plan will be developed to assure success. A coffee bar will be available and our wifi internet café & computer lab will be the perfect place to connect with others-online or in person! Along with 9 PC internet terminals with printing capabilities, we also have 10 ipads available for in-house use. (Thanks to the generosity of the Otto Bremer Foundation and our "ACCESS4ALL" grant.)

(Todd Anderson & Mike Beseres move shelving to make way for "Le Connection" and Karen Vukonich hangs the awning sewn by Karolyn Latterelle.)
Check out the possibilities at the JFHML! Watch us GROW with our sights set on the future; we will embrace the technologies that are essential in our day-to-day lives. We now have 1400 ebook titles, (thank you Otto Bremer Foundation) and a 24/7 online card catalog. We offer programming for all ages and volunteer opportunities. We have large print books, books on CD, and soon we will feature PLAYAWAY Audiobooks-the perfect companion to travel, fitness and our on-the-go lifestyles. Visit our website www.hallettlibrary.org to learn about these and other exciting things happening at your community Library!

THERE IS STILL ROOM in our popular program for elementary school children. The sign-up deadline is FRIDAY JUNE 7 for our K-6 grade 2013 Summer Reading Program "DIG INTO READING." Forms have been sent home to CRES students. We look forward to GREAT programming on Thursday mornings July 11, 18, 25 and August 1. Registration forms can also be downloaded on our website www.hallettlibrary.org.
This program is made possible by support from the JFHML Friends Foundation, Crow Wing Power Community Trust, Cuyuna Range Lions, Deerwood Lakes Lions, Myrin-James Ironton Legion and Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge.
Join together with us as we celebrate 35 years !

We Cater to the Curious!
Sincerely, Peggi Beseres Jessie F. Hallett Memorial Library Our gratitude is extended to the St. Mary Court Foresters of St. Joseph's Church Crosby who recently held a May Rummage Sale and raised $1,030 to benefit the JFHML. With a matching grant opportunity from the National Foresters for $1,000, a total of $2,030 will go towards our 2013 $35,000 Funding Goal. In five short months we are over halfway to our goal! THANK YOU!
