Losing Ground
Tuesday, November 20 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., CST
Last month, researchers at the Center for Housing Policy and Center for Neighborhood Technology released a new report which found that families in the 25 largest U.S. metro areas are losing ground to rising housing and transportation costs.
This free webinar will explain how housing and transportation costs in the largest 25 metro areas have swelled by 44 percent since 2000 while incomes have failed to keep pace and how to reduce the combined costs for low- and moderate-income households. Featuring speakers from the Center for Neighborhood Technology, the Center for Housing Policy, and the National Housing Conference, the webinar will discuss the following questions:
* Why is it important to consider housing and transportation costs together? * Are incomes keeping pace with growth in housing and transportation costs? * How do the combined costs of housing and transportation for moderate-income households vary from metro area to metro area? * How do combined costs for moderate-income households vary by tenure and within metropolitan areas? * What policy strategies can help reduce the combined costs of housing and transportation, thereby improving overall affordability? Speakers on the webinar will include:
* Scott Bernstein, President and Co-Founder, Center for Neighborhood Technology * Chris Estes, President and CEO, National Housing Conference * Peter M. Haas, Chief Research Scientist, Center for Neighborhood Technology * Robert Hickey, Senior Research Associate, Center for Housing Policy * Jeffrey Lubell, Executive Director, Center for Housing Policy Click HERE to register. |
